Just read it.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These words are not always interchangeable, so take note.<\/p>\n<p>no one (pronoun)\u2014nobody; not one single person<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  <em>No one was willing to put up their hand and volunteer to clean the whiteboard.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>  <em>No one man should have such power.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>  <em>&#8216;I tell you, there&#8217;s no one in there!&#8217;<\/em>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While the spelling <em>noone<\/em> is fairly frequently found online, this compound form of <em>no one<\/em> is not widely accepted as correct. However, <em>no-one<\/em> has been widely condoned as a way to reduce ambiguity between the uses of <em>no one<\/em>. It would be used thusly:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  <em>No-one was willing to put up their hand and volunteer to clean the whiteboard.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>  <em>No one man should have such power.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>  <em>\u2018I tell you, there\u2019s no-one in there!\u2019<\/em>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Where people frequently trip up is, if they do use the hyphenated <em>no-one<\/em>, they often miss the instances where <em>no one<\/em> is the correct phrase to use, as in the second example &#8216;no one man should have such power&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is widely accepted to use <em>no one<\/em> in both situations as a spelling preference.
